Rudderless Vessel

Tossed in the high tide of the rough sea,
There found afar a little rudderless ship.
Resembling close to a frightened child,
Like a toddler caught before his screaming dad.

The sky is dark and the wind is rude
The sea below boils in anger.
The waves seem take a fearsome state,
To sink deep the little rudderless vessel.

Found no end for the wretched tide
Wanting to wreck the little vessel in pieces.
As though trying to settle scores with this little one,
While the tides kept soaring high kissing the ship's bow.

Caught in the scene of this helpless vessel's plight,
And wanting to save her from the sea's battering forces,
Yet I am trembling in gruesome fear,
And thus, found in me a surging of empathy.

Melancholic turned my mood, still to recover,
From feelings of pity taken at the sight,
Of this tossed rudderless little ship.
Forced to be a vagabond in this troubled sea,
There seen little ship waiting for me to be saved and brought ashore.

Dashed her hope against those high waves,
Wrapped in the cold fear of death ahead,
Right above found those hungry sea gulls,
Preying on tiny fishes who ventured out of the sea.

There came a wild courage forcing me,
To plunge in and turn as her rudder to take control and I did so.
Driven and tossed by the high tides around,
Clinching firm onto the bow of the little ship
So as to save her out of this cruel sea.

Turning me firm and bold while,
Making me instead as a rudder for the little ship.
Tossed again to and fro until we reached safe,
The shore of calmness much desired and craved for,
Basked for a while in that calm and safe shore,
Wishing to forget those hours of horror forever.
