The Haunting Memory
The end
Memory sends
in a chilling wave across,
Like an
unbidden gale that breaks in often,
Bygone times brawled
along the lane,
Of my mind
that hid deep within,
The recesses of
the soul,
Pausing a
while and staring me sharp,
Setting down
soon its hoary load deep within,
While the sky
above sinks in deep calm as ever though,
Taking me
through the paths never had I tread alone.
Pressing it
down while I strolled past the lane,
Soon casting my
eyes along the sunken road ahead,
Making me
sure of my footprints disappear down the lane,
To the silent
horizon where the memories evade forever.
While late
have I known that those planted the laughter,
On my sullen face
then, can make me cry in memory forever.
And the
memory bleeds, under the bloody moon,
But the daybreak is near and clear.
The start.
Great...
